What is the B.E.A.R. Summer Bridge Program?
Beloved Community, Excellence, Achievement, Resilience
The B.E.A.R Summer Bridge program is a retention program designed for newly admitted students that helps to prepare students to achieve academic process, enrich their college experience and explore their cultural heritage.
Students will enroll in three college courses – English, Math, and Introduction to Computers – and earn nine credit hours that count towards graduation.
Students will attend academic sessions every day with academic support staff to study and complete class assignments. The academic sessions include college-ready skills and tutoring.
Students will engage in activities to foster community with their fellow Summer Bridge participants and mentors.
Students will develop college-ready skills that will equip them with tools to help them develop academically, personally, professionally, and socially.
