About Clinton College

Clinton College has been providing an excellent academic environment to traditionally underserved students since 1894. We are a fully-accredited four-year institution, one of the over one hundred historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) in the nation, and one of the top colleges in South Carolina. We are located in Rock Hill, one of the fastest growing cities in South Carolina, just a few minutes from a growing downtown and the emerging Knowledge Park district.

Our institution is built on four pillars: 1. Scholarship, 2. Social Change, 3. Spirituality, and 4. Servant Leadership. Clinton has produced scholars and leaders who are prepared to be agents of change in a global society for over 130 years, and we hope that you will be the next of our well-rounded graduates, charged to make the world a better place. Because of our four pillars, we stand out among historically black colleges in South Carolina. We challenge our students to be lifelong learners, engaged citizens, and good stewards of the world’s resources. Here at Clinton College, we strongly believe in “Excellence without Excuse!” Come visit our Beloved Community and see why our students, faculty, and staff are proud to be Golden Bears.
