Message from the President
Welcome to Clinton College!
It is my honor and privilege to serve as Interim President of this historic institution. For 19 years, I have been a part of Clinton College, and I am proud of the tremendous progress we have made together. What began as a Junior College has evolved into a thriving and growing four-year institution offering competitive academic programs, operating with administrative excellence, and rising as a leading Historically Black College and University (HBCU) with a unique and innovative approach to higher education.
My journey at Clinton College began after transitioning from corporate America. I joined as an Academic Learning Specialist, where I had the opportunity to assist students with academic planning, advising, and tutoring. This role served as my introduction to higher education and was where I discovered my passion for empowering students through education. Since then, I have grown in my roles and responsibilities, and today, I am honored to serve as Interim President of Clinton College.
Clinton College was founded in 1894 with a profound mission: to educate the underserved. As an HBCU rooted in a legacy of academic excellence, we continue to live out this mission with dedication and purpose. Our students are at the heart of everything we do, and we remain committed to ensuring that every student who joins us has the full “Clinton Experience” — an experience that is rich in scholarship, meaningful engagement, and a true sense of belonging.
As we turn the page to the next chapter of Clinton College, we stand on the shoulders of the trailblazers who came before us, guided by the idea of moving Forward Together. Clinton College has positioned itself as one of the most innovative, private, historically Black colleges in the nation. With an intimate campus environment, technology-driven academic programs, and a commitment to service, our students are equipped to thrive academically, socially, and spiritually.
Our guiding pillars — Scholarship, Social Change, Spirituality, and Service — reflect the foundation of our mission and values. We have demonstrated strength through our successful accreditation processes, operational stability, and a steadfast focus on academic and institutional excellence.
As a four-year, Christian liberal arts college, Clinton College continues to define itself as a place where students are not just educated but valued and empowered. Our location in Rock Hill, South Carolina — a recently designated All-American City — is just 30 minutes south of Charlotte, offering a vibrant and welcoming community.
